Martin Emmer (PhD Technical University of Ilmenau) is professor for media and communication studies at Freie Universität Berlin since 2011. He was founding director (2017-19) and currently is Principal Investigator at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society, Berlin. His research interests include political online communication, digital citizenship, media use in the Global South and methods of empirical media research.
